Bowling
Apparently bowling has gotten easier over the years. My dad said something about it when we were playing wii bowling and I looked it up on wikipedia and the New York times. It’s true! They are rigging the game our way by putting more wax in the middle of the lane than on the sides so that the ball is more inclined to stay in the center than go into the gutters. Also balls have become...

blunted
a kid in my philosophy class told me that that he comes to every class “fully blunted,” a phrase I had never heard before. But I think he meant “high from the marijuana he smoked like a cigarette.” (that is a reference to arrested development if anyone missed it.)
just had the most intense IM with Cait. It was awesome. I am running on adrenaline from all the ideas. It’s gonna be so much fun!
We should start planning our empire soon. : )

Now, think of a baby tiger.
annalz: Tonight at dinner Florian was trying to help me with my accent when saying my “r’s” en francais (which all of you who’ve taken a French class know is very difficult. along with every other pronunciation in the French language). He made me make a noise like a big tiger, along with the hand motions. Then told me to think of a baby tiger, and say my r’s like...
I learned in my human geography class today that only 21% of americans have passports. This seems absurdly low. I think that we could really learn something if we traveled to other countries and learned that there are other cultures in the world besides our own. So, Life Goal # 274: travel more. (maybe wait until the economy gets a little better though.)
It's alive!
juliaheffernan.com went live today. Thanks to andrew for all his help. I am really happy with the final (well sort of final) product. Now I think that I will be able to tinker with it and learn more about css/xhtml.
Worked on my webpage all day with Andrew. I can’t wait to get it up and running.
Video from the summer, some put together by myself, then final editing rights went to Cait.
A girl in my computer class just walked in before the professor came and said “Does anyone have any idea what is going on in this class?” And then it got kind of awkward because everyone was like “well yeah pretty much…”
Made this for my sister for her 23rd birthday today.

Life Goal #136
To become fluent in at least one other language (preferably two).
the women in my life are funnier than the men. maybe men have been in the humor game for too long, and our sensibilities are becoming a little meta. but i find women to be generally more free and shameless as well as more in tune with subtlety. with men, there’s a sense of “making a joke,” whereas with women there’s more of the pure ability to be funny. obviously all that...

Read It
I just finished reading Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I read it in either seventh or eighth grade, but I didn’t really remember it that well. It is so good. I highly recommend reading it to everyone, even if you have already read it. I also finished Prelude to Foundation a couple of days ago by Isaac Asimov. He wrote over 350 novels in his life time. I can barely comprehend...

Crispy College
I knew I was really back at school when I walked out of my dorm and saw people in bikinis tanning.
Re: [jimmy's] web 2.0 business plan
My brother wrote me this email. Credibly administrate just in time e-business before stand-alone materials. Intrinsicly utilize client-focused initiatives rather than user-centric infomediaries. Synergistically streamline an expanded array of paradigms for granular resources. Credibly underwhelm web-enabled process improvements after user-centric ROI. Dynamically disseminate market-driven...
I saw a bunch of people from improv everywhere drop trough in the subway today when I was hanging out with Cait. It was really funny.
Trapeze School
Last year I spent a week learning how to do the trapeze. I can do flip landings and be caught by other people. It was a weird week. This skill has not turned out to be very useful so far in my life.
